TRÆUNIVERSITETET - Ecole de la Conception EN REVE (UNIVERSITY OF WOOD)
The university offers courses in processing wood and simple landscaping design.
With a hands-on approach, the participants are taught how to build everything from a birdhouse to a pavilion. Only your imagination (and the professor) sets the limit! The course can either be carried out "on location" or in the workshop at Godsbanen / The Institute for (X) in Aarhus.

VEJFORSKNING (Road research)
Vejforskning is an Aarhus based initiative that offers ordinary citizens a temporary car-free environment in their community. Vejforskning uses a simple intervention model that keeps cars off the streets for a few days and leaves room for people instead.
The trial series, that took place during spring and early summer 2011, shed a light on what happens when:
- neighbours are given a common space where they can meet, practice their hobbies and discover the opportunities they can create together.
- you pull people and their resources out from the privacy of their homes in order to let the collected amount of energy, ideas and solutions be greater than that of the individual.
- you increase safety, security and the air quality as well as reducing the noise in the street.
The lesson learned shows that the model facilitates for:
- increased physical activity, shared experiences and mutual help and inspiration
- empowered local communities
- a fresh look on the habits of travel and transport
Vejforskning has come to stay and can be used by anyone as a tool for temporary local regeneration.
